From 9 to 13 June took place the second mobility of the VOLARE project. This time, the meeting was held in Sopot (Poland). Students from all the partner countries gathered to participate in new volunteering activities.

This new meeting was aimed at promoting active citizenship and raise awareness of the different resources available in the field of volunteering. The week began with many activities that helped to create an atmosphere of trust between students, a canoe ride and several group dynamics helped strengthen ties between young people from different countries.

During the rest of the week, students and educators visited some centers staffed by volunteers. In one of these, a day care center for people with disabilities, VOLARE project participants worked as volunteers, making handcrafts to create gifts that would be given to the elderly residents in another center. This gift delivering took place on Thursday, certainly one of the most emotional days for both young and older residents, as the ideal environment for the transmission of life experiences (some of them were as important to the country as the Second World War) between young and old people was created during the visit. Students also had the opportunity to discover music and Polish folklore.

On Thursday night, a small culinary competition was held, in which the students supported by several volunteers, learned how to prepare a Polish dish: pierogi (pasta stuffed with meat, spinach and potato).

To close this mobility, all members of the VOLARE team helped in the rehabilitation of a park in Sopot, in which E2O Polish students took months working. A barbecue with typical products of the area was the final farewell for a week full of hard work, emotions and rewarding experiences.
